Our History

The corporation Herbal Concepts was formed in 1996 by Chris and Beth Lindsay. Our goal was simple; to create the highest quality aromatherapy heat products at the most affordable price.

My background for the past ten years has been marketing hot and cold therapy products into a variety of markets, including the medical field. I realized to develop the best aromatherapy microwavable heat products on the market, I would need to develop a relationship with one of the leading authorities in the field of aromatherapy.

After researching a list of prominent candidates in the field, I commissioned Dr. Chris Meletis, who is the director and dean of clinical education at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon, to undertake this project. Through market research we developed a blend of 12 herbs combined in the correct proportions with a blend of high quality flax and grains that would provide the maximum benefits for the widest variety of common ailments, such as arthritis, stress relief, flu symptoms, muscle cramps and many others.

We tested these products for over two years through direct selling at consumer events such as state fairs, home and garden shows and holiday events with amazing results. The demand was now there for an aromatherapy product of this quality, and the next step was to develop packaging and create exposure in the wholesale marketplace.

One of our main reasons for the success that we have experienced comes from customers comparing our products to the competition and discovering that ours is true aromatherapy - not simply a fragrance-based product - and a blend that was physician-formulated and that really works.

The future plans of Herbal Concepts is to develop an extensive line of aromatherapy products for adults and children of all ages, and to make these products available through a wide variety of retail outlets throughout the entire United States.
